Commercial Journeyman Electrician
Job Overview:
We are currently seeking experienced Commercial Journeyman Electricians to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting commercial electrical systems in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local regulations, and project blueprints. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical theory, safety practices, and a proven track record in commercial construction environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial buildings (retail, office, institutional, etc.)
- Perform rough-in and finish electrical work, including conduit bending, wire pulling, panel installation, lighting, and switchgear
- Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and technical diagrams
- Safely work with voltages ranging from 120V to 480V
- Ensure all work meets NEC standards and local building codes
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform corrective maintenance
- Collaborate with general contractors, foremen, and other trades as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical experience
- Current Journeyman Electrician license (where applicable in PA or surrounding areas)
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and wiring diagrams
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions
- Experience with EMT, PVC, MC cabling, switchgear, lighting systems, and low-voltage wiring
