This rock star will apply their solid design skills, technical expertise, and creative problem-solving mindset to help drive positive business outcomes! You'll be part of a creative team including writers, content strategists, design strategists and art directors who ensure we keep our Institutional Investor Group clients informed and fully engaged. We're looking for someone who is passionate about continuous improvement and can bring clarity and humanity to our marketing materials.

You'll combine your creativity and artistic talents to design a wide range of digital and print media from presentations and emails to brand and identity systems, working closely within your team and other designers in our group.

We are seeking a candidate that has extensive expertise in graphic design, brand knowledge, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

This role will be in Vanguard's Strategy, Product, Marketing, Communications (SPMC) division. SPMC is responsible for Vanguard's Corporate Strategy and Strategic Business Development, investment product development and oversight, Global Marketing, and Corporate Communications.

Creative Services, Specialist:

  • Collaborates with a cross-functional team, acting as an autonomous, cross-functional design expert who ensures the delivery of high-quality products for end users.

  • Conceptualizes, presents, and executes multi-channel digital (UX/UI) and graphic (“print”) design, translating business needs into viable solutions that capture brand and market positioning targeted to different IIG audience(s). Digital assets range from articles, blogs, emails, and landing pages to PowerPoints, videos, and data visualization animations. (Graphic design includes print collateral and presentation materials.)

  • Works independently, or coordinates across functions when needed, to craft client-centric design output that not only communicates complex concepts and processes with an emphasis on clarity and understanding, but also communicates the personality of our brand to users in an elegant, delightful, and human way.

  • Assumes the roles of design influencer and brand steward, with little required supervision. Works with design leadership to understand and uphold standards of design quality in all output. Frames strong rationales for design decisions that persuade business partners and senior leaders.

  • Flexible in mindset and working approach. Embraces an Agile approach to work and encourages a continuous learning environment. Has ability to pivot and quickly redirect efforts, as needed.

  • Upholds the craft of design while valuing delivery (speed to market) over perfection in a test-and-learn environment. Iterates on work based on research learning and documents these insights to share with others.

  • Follows project workflows and timelines to ensure projects meet delivery deadlines; adopts Design Team procedures for naming, storing, and archiving digital files.

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of five to seven years related work experience.

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree (BS, BFA and/or Masters) in a design, advertising, or communications field or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.

  • Track record of designing quality communications deliverables across both traditional print and digital mediums that have enabled positive business outcomes.

  • Able to work with a diverse set of graphic design and UX software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, WorkFront, Figma, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).

  • Comfortable working with quick turnaround times and deadlines.

  • Experience working in an Agile environment is preferred.

  • Nice to haves: experience creating and editing videos/animations, storyboarding, Adobe After Effects knowledge.

This is a hybrid role with Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in the office and Monday and Friday are remote.
