Schedule: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun — 3 PM to 11 PM

1:1 Support in a Family Home

We are urgently searching for a deeply caring, mentally strong, and adaptable DSP to support a young woman whose daily life is shaped by high agitation, frequent seizures, and constant change. Her needs are intense, immediate, and emotionally demanding — and the right person will become a source of stability in a world that shifts for her every single day.

Why This Role Matters

She experiences extreme agitation throughout the day , often making distressed, uncomfortable sounds that continue for long periods. She is not aggressive toward staff, but the emotional toll is real. This work requires mental fortitude , empathy, and the ability to stay grounded even when the day feels heavy.

Her seizure activity has increased significantly. With that comes unpredictability — what works today may not work tomorrow. She needs someone who can adapt, think creatively, and meet her where she is, moment by moment.

Above all, she needs someone who genuinely cares.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will provide 1:1 care in her family home, where she lives with her sister, grandmother, and nephew. The home has one dog and one cat.

Your support will include:

  • Full supervision
  • Assistance with showers, eating, and medication management
  • Helping her walk with assistance and providing lifting support (no adaptive equipment available)
  • Transporting her in her wheelchair when needed
  • Being a calm, steady presence during periods of high agitation
  • Adjusting to constant changes with patience and creativity

She is non-verbal but often happy — and she depends on the people around her to help her feel safe, understood, and supported.

Signing Bonus Details

  • $333 after 90 days (minimum 20 hours/week)
  • $333 after 6 months (minimum 20 hours/week)
  • $334 after 1 year (minimum 20 hours/week)

Note: Bonus not available for Residential Services or Relative as Provider (RAP) hires. Applicants must not have worked for Abound Health or its affiliates within the past 18 months.
