The Goddard School of State College is seeking candidates for a full-time Assistant Teacher in our Infant classroom. Candidates will help create a caring, nurturing, and safe environment for the children and assist in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. Job Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
- Plan learning activities within established classroom centers.
- Implement prepared lessons and activities in small and large group settings throughout the program day.
- Assist children with managing all parts of the program day including transitions between activities, meals, toileting/diapering & washing hands, structured activities, etc.
- Establish positive and effective family relations through interactive parent communication.
- Ensure compliance with Goddards Industry-leading Quality Assurance standards
- Shows empathy and compassion for young children
- Is dependable and adaptable and enjoys working together toward a common goal
- Experience working with children in a childcare, daycare, volunteer or babysitting setting for Assistant Teachers.
- A degree or certificate (CDA) in early childhood, elementary education, related human services field or early childhood coursework is preferred for Lead Teachers.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
