A Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while ensuring the efficient operation of the medical office. This role involves managing front desk activities, scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and supporting healthcare providers with administrative tasks.
This is a part-time position for 25-30 hours per week. Schedule to be determined.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answer and direct phone calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and update electronic medical records.
- Collect co-payments and process payments accurately.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with privacy regulations.
- Prepare and organize patient files for appointments.
- Coordinate referrals, laboratory requests, and prescription renewals as needed.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and office correspondence.
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (medical office training is an asset).
- Previous experience in a medical office or customer service role preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
- Ability to maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
