Experienced Barista / Café Associate (Part-Time)

The Ground Coffee, Plants & Gifts is looking for an experienced barista to join our team.

We're a fast-paced specialty café serving high-quality coffee, house-made food, bubble tea, and a curated retail and plant shop. We take pride in exceptional hospitality, teamwork, and creating an environment where both customers and employees enjoy being.

Please note:

• This position is part-time to start.
• Additional hours are often available through shift coverage, with opportunities to grow into a larger role over time.
• Availability to work at both of our Philadelphia locations is highly desired.

What You'll Do

Every shift is different, but responsibilities include:

• Preparing espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and bubble tea to our standards
• Taking customer orders while providing warm, knowledgeable service
• Preparing light food items
• Restocking and merchandising retail and plant displays
• Maintaining an exceptionally clean, organized café throughout the day
• Working closely alongside teammates during busy rushes
• Helping wherever needed to keep service moving smoothly

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys working hard as part of a team.

Our cafés stay busy, and this isn't a position where you'll spend time waiting for customers. The best fit is someone who naturally stays productive, notices what needs to be done, and takes initiative without needing constant direction.

You should be comfortable:

• Working on your feet for an entire shift
• Multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Working in close quarters with several teammates
• Staying calm and friendly during busy rushes
• Keeping your workspace clean and organized at all times

Requirements

Required:

• Previous barista experience
• Previous café or coffee shop experience
• Strong customer service skills
• Reliable transportation to work at both locations
• Weekend availability
• Ability to lift approximately 30 lbs and stand for extended periods
