Summary of Responsibility:
As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating, planning, designing and installing machinery or equipment in an industrial environment using state-of-the-art instruments, advanced computer systems and knowledge of programming and engineering. Other duties include, but are not limited to:
What You Will Contribute:
Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposals
Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications
Programing and setting up CNC lathes, CNC vertical or horizontal mills
Developing/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers, lathes, and/ or multi-tasking machines
Possessing and maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the company
Qualifications and Competencies:
2 year Technical Degree in Manufacturing Technology (Preferred)
3+ years of Machine Programming and Set-Up Experience (Okuma/Tsugami Experience Preferred)
Fanuc Control Experience
Mitsubishi Control Experience
CAM Programming Experience
G&M Code Programming Experience
Tolerance for travel and overnight stays (Home/Customer Sites -> 80/20 split)
Willingness to be trained into other machines beyond our flagship lines, Okuma & Tsugami.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods while servicing equipment.
Ability to work in tight spaces or awkward positions, including accessing equipment interiors and elevated areas.
Strong hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills required for precise electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic work.
Ability to work in industrial environments, with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and other manufacturing conditions, while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
