Heavy Equipment Operator

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time – 40 hours/week

WORK SCHEDULE: During the following hours of operation: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Saturday as needed 8:00 am – 12:00 pm

JOB OVERVIEW:

Scrap metal yard located in Bradford, PA seeks an Equipment Operator to handle day to day tasks in the yard. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Safe Handling and/or moving material.
• Knowledge of the Excavator/Magnet/Grapple loading requirements; material shipping specifications; weight thresholds.
• Effective communication with all site personnel.
• Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, etc.
• Daily maintenance of equipment.
• Identify, report, correct and/or prevent hazards.
• Perform tasks maintaining all health, safety and environmental rules and ensure work is completed in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ability to sit for long periods.
• Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis.
• Work outside in the elements regardless of the season.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Heavy equipment certification a plus.
• 2 plus years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Organizational skills, able to multi-task.
• Self-motivated, ability to work independently.
• Team player, able to get along with a diverse group.
