Position Summary:
The Customer Development Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Sales team by developing compelling sales presentations, managing proposal submissions, and responding to retailer RFPs across both core and innovation portfolios. This individual ensures strategic alignment on private label and branded initiatives, coordinating cross-functionally to deliver proposals that meet commercial and operational goals. Once new business is awarded, the analyst is responsible for facilitating seamless execution and timely launches with retail partners. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, collaboration, and a commitment to deadlines.
What will you do:
Partner with Sales to support customer account strategies and drive the execution of brand and private label initiatives.
Leverage category and consumer insights to identify whitespace opportunities and develop data-driven, compelling selling stories.
Collaborate with Sales to build strategic presentations and sales tools that meet specific customer needs.
Lead the coordination and submission of RFPs, incorporating competitive insights, operational capabilities, and financial assessments (pricing, margin, and profitability).
Manage proposal timelines and ensure key milestones are met through effective project management.
Serve as a liaison between Sales and cross-functional partners (Finance, Operations, Supply Chain) to align on deliverables and business objectives.
Contribute to cost-saving initiatives, product and packaging optimization, and other commercial improvement projects.
Support planning and execution of key trade shows to elevate brand visibility and drive business development.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2-5 years of experience in sales preferably in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Food and Beverage industries
- Familiarity with customer account selling across a variety of sales channels and some key account management experience a plus
- Understanding of what is needed to drive sales through new products launches, innovation and growing base business
- Understanding of P&L components impacting revenue, cost of goods, distribution, and overhead
- Ability to work independently and proactively to deliver compliant proposal responses and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop solutions and create tactical plans
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Enthusiasm for mentoring and sharing knowledge with team members
- Adaptability to succeed in a fast-paced, innovative business environment
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Ability to influence and coach others effectively
