Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support preventative maintenance and repair activities at an industrial site. This role requires hands-on experience with welding, cutting, fitting, and mechanical maintenance, along with the ability to work safely in demanding outdoor and industrial environments.

Job Description

• Support preventative maintenance and repair activities across the site
• Perform welding, cutting, and fitting tasks
• Coordinate maintenance efforts with maintenance foreman, mine foreman, crusher/jig plant foreman, and other site personnel
• Report maintenance concerns to the shift boss or foreman to ensure proper scheduling of repairs
• Maintain proper tool storage, organization, clean work areas, and safe working conditions
• Perform heavy manual labor, including clean-up using shovels, picks, hoes, and brooms
• Lift, carry, and manipulate tools and equipment
• Perform repetitive hand and arm motions using jacks, ratchet wrenches, chain hoists, and come-alongs
• Operate forklifts and cranes
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Occasionally work in confined or restrictive spaces
• Work at heights on storage bins, conveyor structures, and buildings
• Climb stairs, inclines, slopes, or ropes as required
• Work assigned shift schedules, including night and graveyard shifts when needed
• Perform all work in compliance with regulatory requirements and company procedures
  
• Maintain a strong focus on safety and environmental responsibility
  
• Continually inspect work areas for unsafe conditions or practices
  
• Correct or take interim action on unsafe conditions and report them to supervision
  
• Report all injuries, near-misses, property damage, and hazardous conditions
  
• Participate in required training, HSE programs, and performance development activities
  
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and productivity

• Candidates with welding or cutting apprenticeships are encouraged to apply
  
• No formal education required
  
• Must be able to read and write
  
• First shift: approximately 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  
• 5-day workweek; weekends currently required due to workload
  
• Extensive hands-on, on-the-job training provided for site-specific tasks

Education

• High school diploma or equival ent;

Pay Rate

• $28 per hour and higher depending on experience
