Welder Duties / Requirements

Mig Welding

Basic welds - Flat & vertical down Welding steel & sheet metal Perform welding applications by applying appropriate welding techniques via the use of a wire welder. Demonstrate knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the welding field. Work includes set-up, laying out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts, stoves or fireplace products. Prepare metal surfaces for welding activities. Perform assembly processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies, using hand tools, as well as electronic and pneumatic tooling. Inspect welded joints using visual inspection and correct welds as necessary to meet quality standards.
