Sourcing Manager, Dairy Ingredients

We are looking for a dedicated Sourcing Manager to oversee the procurement of all dairy and non-dairy processing ingredients for our manufacturing plants. This role will ensure that we maintain an optimal balance of cost and supply, manage strong supplier relationships, and contribute to sustainability efforts. The ideal candidate will work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers to maintain quality standards, solve any challenges, and manage inventory and cost control. This position offers a hybrid work schedule with a potential relocation package for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Lead procurement of milk and cream for manufacturing, balancing long-term contracts and spot market purchases to support production and meet sales demands.
Work closely with the Receiving Teams and Dairy Ingredients Buyer/MRP to ensure smooth scheduling of dairy loads and logistics.
Manage and optimize milk and cream sales to maximize returns when necessary.
Lead and report on the Dairy Sustainability Program, collaborating with teams to ensure best farming practices, animal welfare, and progress on carbon reduction goals.
Develop and manage goat milk patron programs, ensuring adequate supply while overseeing farm inspections, hauling contracts, and communication efforts like newsletters and annual meetings.
Manage dairy accounting functions, ensuring accurate monthly reports to Finance and state auditors.
Support and implement dairy budgets and forecasts for all dairy ingredients.
Assist in implementing dairy risk management strategies for both retail sales and key customer accounts.
Source and negotiate contracts for non-dairy ingredients across all manufacturing sites, in partnership with the R&D department to support new product development.
Travel up to 25%, including on-farm visits, with occasional overnight travel.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business administration, or a related field.
At least five years of procurement experience in food manufacturing.
Proven ability to lead teams and achieve results through collaboration.
Strong negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
Ability to think strategically and plan for the long-term (2+ years).
Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
Strong problem-solving capabilities at both strategic and functional levels.
Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of dairy manufacturing processes and procurement in the dairy industry.
Experience in lean manufacturing environments.
Advanced proficiency in computer skills, including SAP experience.
