About Us:

Alpscontrols is the North American market leader in ecommerce distribution of HVAC and building controls products. As a result of our continuing growth, we're seeking a talented and hard-working Credit Manager, to lead our credit and collections operations while maintaining strong customer relationships and supporting our company's growth.

Position Impact:

In this full-time position of Credit Manager, you'll directly influence our company's financial health by optimizing cash flow, minimizing risk, and building scalable credit processes. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance business growth with prudent risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Strategy & Policy

- Design and implement comprehensive credit policies aligned with company objectives

- Develop innovative risk assessment frameworks using modern credit scoring tools

- Lead periodic policy reviews to ensure regulatory compliance and business effectiveness

Portfolio Management

- Evaluate customer creditworthiness through financial analysis and risk assessment

- Establish and maintain appropriate credit limits across customer segments

- Monitor portfolio health through KPIs including DSO, delinquency rates, and bad debt ratios

Collections & Risk Management

- Lead proactive collections strategies to minimize past-due accounts

- Develop and implement early warning systems for at-risk accounts

- Partner with legal counsel on complex collection cases

- Mentor and develop collections team members

Stakeholder Management

- Collaborate with sales teams to structure deals that balance risk and growth

- Present monthly portfolio performance reviews to senior management

- Build strong relationships with key customers to resolve complex credit issues

- Lead regular strategy sessions with sales teams to align credit and growth objectives

Success Metrics:

- Reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding)

- Maintain bad debt losses below industry standard

- Achieve improvement in past-due ratio

- Implement automated credit scoring system

Required Qualifications:

- 5+ years of progressive credit management experience

- Proven track record of reducing past-due accounts and bad debt exposure

- Advanced Excel skills and experience with credit management software

- Outstanding negotiation and relationship management capabilities

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

- Credit Management certification (NACM or similar)

- Experience with credit operations in a company selling to contractors e.g. HVAC, electrical, or similar

- Working knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements

- Experience managing and developing team members
