Job Title: Bilingual Homeroom Teacher
We are seeking passionate and experienced bilingual educators to join our team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both languages and committed to creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment where students can develop and strengthen their bilingual skills equally.
Bilingual Homeroom Teachers are responsible for designing and implementing high-quality lesson plans, assessments, and instructional strategies that address the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of students in a dual language setting. Teachers will foster language development, cultural awareness, and academic excellence while promoting meaningful student engagement in both languages.
In addition, teachers collaborate closely with colleagues, school leaders, and families to ensure effective programming and student success. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong instructional practices, cultural competence, classroom management skills, and a deep commitment to bilingual education and student achievement.
What you will be doing
- Creating supportive and engaging learning environments where students can develop language proficiency in both the target language and English
- Planning and delivering lessons that promote language acquisition, literacy development, and academic achievement across content areas
- Using a variety of instructional strategies and teaching techniques, including visual supports, hands-on activities, differentiated instruction, and cooperative learning experiences
- Assessing student progress regularly, monitoring academic and language development, and adjusting instruction to support student growth and success
- Collaborating with fellow teachers, school leaders, and families to ensure the effectiveness of the bilingual program and support the diverse needs of all students
- Encouraging cultural awareness, appreciation, and respect by integrating multicultural perspectives and experiences into classroom instruction and activities
- Building positive relationships with students and fostering a classroom culture that supports confidence, communication, and lifelong learning
What you bring to the table
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in EducationPennsylvania Instructional Certification PK–4, or eligibility to obtain instructional certification in Pennsylvania
Strong content knowledge and instructional skills to effectively teach assigned grade levels and subject areas
Demonstrated ability in classroom management, lesson planning, instructional delivery, organization, and the integration of educational technology
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and community partners to support student achievement and strengthen school-community connections
Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive learning environment that values diversity and promotes belonging for all students
Passion for bilingual education, language development, and supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of diverse learners

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 10-months, exempt
- This position is for in-person work at our location
- 180 instructional days, 197 work days (new staff members work additional days for induction/orientation)
- In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable
- To be eligible to work for Pan American Academy Charter School, you must complete and submit background clearances and paperwork prior to your start date. We accept clearances that are less than 1 year old from the date a new employee presents them to Human Resources.
