Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Upfitter to join our team. The Upfitter will be responsible for installing, modifying, and customizing a wide variety of vehicle equipment and technology. This role requires mechanical and electrical aptitude, the ability to follow technical instructions, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship that meets company and customer standards.

• Competitive compensation package of minimum $23.00 - Maximum $29.00

Key Responsibilities

• Install and wire emergency lighting, sirens, radios, computer mounts, cameras, GPS, and other specialized equipment in vehicles.

• Modify vehicles according to customer specifications, including partitioning, shelving, storage solutions, and technology integration.

• Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and work orders.

• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues to ensure proper function of all installed equipment.

• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry and company standards.

• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used.

• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and customers to ensure quality and satisfaction.

• Perform quality checks and final inspections before delivery.

• Keep tools, equipment, and work area organized, clean, and safe.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Mechanical Aptitude

• Adhere to standards set by Transdev.

• Valid driver's license

• Comfortable using hand tools.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Maintain an organized shop and clean work environment.

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

• The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.

• Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces

• Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level

• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
