Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Full-time, Part-time, or Per-Diem (Flexible placement options)

About the Opportunity:
Our partner schools in Philadelphia are seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to join their teams. We’re looking for educators committed to creating inclusive, supportive learning environments and who can effectively tailor instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and evaluate Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs

• Differentiate instruction based on students’ individual learning styles, strengths, and challenges

• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, school staff, and families to support student progress and success

• Apply a variety of teaching techniques and educational tools to foster engagement and learning

• Regularly monitor student performance and adjust instructional strategies as needed

• Cultivate a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages social-emotional development and behavioral growth

• Participate in IEP meetings and other relevant team or school meetings

Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required)

• Completion of an approved teacher preparation program in Special Education

• Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II Certificate in Special Education

  • Teachers holding out-of-state certification must apply for reciprocity through the PA Department of Education

Clearances (must be current):

• FBI Criminal Background Check

• PA State Police Criminal Record Check

• PA Child Abuse History Clearance

• Act 126 Trainings (Child Abuse Recognition & Reporting)

• CPR/First Aid

• TB Read Results within the two years
