Procurement & Supply Chain Manager – Manufacturing

Location: Johnstown, PA
Salary: $95,000 to $120,000 based on experience

We Guide, You Grow LLC is recruiting a full-time Procurement & Supply Chain Manager for a large manufacturing company. This position reports to the CFO and plays a key role in ensuring all essential supply chain functions are met for subcontracted parts. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in buying commodities and demonstrated supply chain management expertise .

The Procurement & Supply Chain Manager will drive and implement purchasing process improvements to support business goals, with a strong emphasis on cost-reduction initiatives, inventory management, and continuity of supply. This role requires exceptional project management and interpersonal skills, collaborating closely with engineering, product development, marketing, manufacturing, and material planning teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Must have demonstrated experience buying commodities and managing supplier relationships.
• Facilitate the purchase requisition process and issue purchase orders per company policy.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery dates, and PO terms and conditions.
• Manage physical inventory process: setup meetings, scheduling, inventory sheets, input coordination, and discrepancy analysis.
• Oversee day-to-day purchasing team operations: supplier interface, rush orders, onboarding, international processes, expediting, workflow, and personnel matters.
• Identify and lead supplier cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service standards.
• Develop preferred supplier programs and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Support engineering and operations with new product testing and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Evaluate and implement Manufacturing Alerts and Engineering Change Notifications.
• Provide periodic supplier performance reports and monthly executive KPI dashboards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management , or a related field.
• APICS/ISM certifications highly preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain operations , ideally in an industrial or commercial manufacturing environment.
• Proven success in commodity purchasing, sourcing, and contract negotiation.
• Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and process-oriented mindset.
• Ability to drive measurable results in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Experience with ERP systems related to purchasing (Syteline and ShopTrak a plus).
