Accounting Manager

Pay: $110,000 - $125,000 / year

Job Description:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for real estate/property entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes across the portfolio
- Assist with external audit, tax, and compliance requirements; coordinate with auditors and tax advisors as needed
- Review work prepared by Corporate and Property Accountants; provide guidance, training, and mentorship
- Utilize Yardi for property accounting, reporting, and reconciliations
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency, including interest in automation and system enhancements
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accounting practices align with corporate standards and best practices
- Take a hands-on approach to ensure deadlines are met, including flexibility to stay through completion of critical work
Requirements:
- 9–12 years of progressive accounting experience
- Minimum of 4 years of property or real estate accounting experience
- Corporate accounting experience strongly preferred (audit, tax, and consolidated reporting exposure)
- Experience overseeing or reviewing the work of other accountants (formal management not required)
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Proficiency with Yardi required
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
