HYBRID Windchill Developer
Location: Primarily remote/hybrid but occasional travel will be required to customer site in New Jersey and may be required at subcontractor sites and company headquarters in Harrisburg, PA.

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Windchill Developer to join our team. The Windchill Developer is responsible for developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining the Army’s Windchill platform. This role involves supporting large scale data migrations into Windchill from SAP PLM. The developer will perform detailed data analyses on existing data in the system and correcting deficiencies or enhancing the data structures/attributes per customer requirements. The ideal candidate has 5 to 8 years of experience in Windchill data migration development and execution with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop custom workflows, user interfaces, services, and data loaders using Windchill APIs and Java/JSP
• Integrate Windchill with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CAD tools) to ensure seamless data flow
• Implement enhancements, manage configurations, and improve change processes
• Support data migration, ETL processes, and database management
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training for end-users
• Conduct comprehensive testing, including unit, integration, and system testing ensuring application quality and functionality stay in spec
• Debug and resolve complex application, customization, or data defects and issues
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for all data extraction, transformation, loading and cleansing rulesets and solutions
• Provide training and support to end-users on data relationships and extract, transform, load, or cleansing logic when necessary
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of Windchill solutions
• Lead implementation teams and contribute to solution design in senior roles
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or other Engineering discipline
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with and developing on top of Windchill and ThingWorx
• Experience collaborating with the PTC Technical Support & R&D organizations
• Strong programming skills leveraging Java, JSP, J2EE, XML, JSON, and HTML5
• Knowledge of Windchill System & Business Administration, including security configurations
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be US Citizen
• Currently holds an active U.S. security clearance
• Security+ Certification (or obtained within 30-45 days of project start)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with database management systems (e.g. Oracle and SQL Server) and SQL scripting
• Experience with and certifications in Agile software development methodologies
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and code management leveraging a version control system
• Experience investigating and resolving Windchill performance related issues
• Knowledge of DoD software development policies and requirements
Work Environment: Remote / Hybrid work environment. In-person collaboration is required to support engagement with the team. In addition to in-office days, employees have the flexibility to telework on designated days or as needed, provided they adhere to established communication protocols and fulfill their work responsibilities effectively. Additionally, travel will be required to customer site and may be required at subcontractor sites and other office locations.
About the Program: This role supports the U.S. Army’s transition from legacy SAP PLM systems to a modernized Windchill ePDM environment. The project includes data migration, system integration, and support for digital acquisition environments.
