Pen Argyl YMCA - AmeriCorps Community Resource Navigator
Members will learn about and build partnerships with community resources to assist the community at large.
- While serving, members receive a living allowance dispersed twice per month in addition to an education award at the end of successful service term.
- Service terms are 8-10 months in duration. (starting October 2025)
- Hours per week vary from 15-20 based on host location need and availability of member.

Do you have a passion to serve your community? Are you seeking an opportunity to utilize your employment and/or educational background in a community based non-profit setting? Do you want to learn more about community resources and assist underserved populations? If you answered yes to any (or all) of these questions, I want you to join me - to be productive with me in changing the community issues we are facing - to join me in building this AmeriCorps program and our communities together. Responsibilities
- Assess needs to identify what programs individuals are eligible for and help them through the application process.
- Identify individuals who could benefit from basic need supports (food, housing, medical, etc).
- Assist in household budgeting and increase in knowledge of financial stability resources.
- Develop initial success plans with the family/individual.
- Communicate with local stakeholders to improve warm hand offs and referrals between agencies.
- Serve as a link between individuals and other providers.
- Coordinate facilitation of trainings and bridge gap in access to services.
- Collect data, track individual and family outcomes.
- Attend trainings through UWGLV and host location.
Able to report in person for work in Lehigh, Northampton or Carbon counties.
Able to secure clearances to work with vulnerable populations (Act 153).
Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Have a HS diploma or G.E.D.
