About the Position
We are actively seeking a multi-skilled Shotfirer/Operator to join our team at the Commodore & Cameby Downs mine sites!
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will support leading our established team at the Commodore & Cameby Downs sites, working a 7/7 day shift only (12hr) roster.

Core accountabilities include:
- Act as a senior member and mentor of the team
- Safe and efficient surface shotfiring operations
- Safe and efficient operation of our Mobile Processing Units (MPUs)
- Identify and plan opportunities for improvement
- Carry out pre-starts
- Regularly carry out workplace Take 5’s
- Attend toolbox discussions, and lead as required
- Relief supervisor duties as required
- Contribute to a respectful and inclusive work environment
About you
• Demonstrated leadership skills
- Experience in operating MPU’s and shotfiring operations in an open cut environment essential
- Experience using both Non-Electric and Electronic Blasting Systems (desirable)
- Extensive experience working in the drill & blast industry
- Unwavering commitment to safety and efficiency
- Ability to work well within a team and unsupervised
- Excellent organisation and time management
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Current HR driver's licence
- QLD Shotfirer’s ticket
- QLD Security Clearance for handling explosives (or willing to obtain)
- Current QLD Coal Board Medical (or willing to obtain)
- Standard 11 (or willing to obtain)
- Relevant RII competencies (RIIBLA201A & RIIBLA203A) highly regarded
- Supervisor training (S1, S2 & S3)
- G2 Implementation of Risk Management (or willing to obtain)
• Permanent, full-time position at the Commodore & Cameby Downs mine sites
- 7/7 day-shift only roster – 12 hour shifts
