Accounts Payable Manager
Location: Norristown, PA area hybrid scheduleWe are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP function within a Finance Shared Services environment. This role will oversee day-to-day AP operations while driving process optimization, automation, and compliance across a complex, multi-entity organization.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Accounts Payable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of all AP transactions
Re-engineer and optimize AP workflows through automation to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
Serve as the escalation point for AP-related issues, partnering with operational and finance teams to resolve matters effectively
Develop, monitor, and analyze AP KPIs, recommending enhancements to support continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and SOX standards
Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations and AP-related journal entries
Partner with Finance leadership to align AP processes with broader financial goals and strategic initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a corporate accounting or finance environment
At least 5 years of direct experience managing an AP or finance team
Demonstrated success driving process improvement and operational efficiencies
Preferred Qualifications
MBA, CPA, or other relevant professional certification
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Experience with AP automation tools , ERP systems, and system implementations
Background supporting multi-entity, multi-location organizations
Public company experience with working knowledge of SOX compliance
Deep understanding of AP workflows, accounting principles, and compliance requirements
