Maintenance Tech I (3rd Shift)
Description
As a
Maintenance Technician
, you will provide maintenance and training for PAC equipment. This position requires an understanding of industrial safe work practices, electrical safe work practices, and the basic principles of repairs on industrial machinery. You must be able to assist with installations and repairs for new and existing equipment using basic shop tools, electrical components and fabricated items to install, diagnose, repair and optimize PAC machinery. The Maintenance Level I Tech will understand VFD and servo motors, pneumatics/hydraulics, mechanical/electrical blueprints, and possess a willingness to work independently to solve problems or make repairs to industrial equipment. Safety is a top concern. The Maintenance Technician will identify safety concerns related to OSHA regulations and maintain all equipment to OEM, OSHA or PAC safety standards. The ideal candidate for the Maintenance Level I Technician position will have a high school diploma, at least 2 years of experience.
_3rd Shift, 11:00pm - 7:00am, Sunday - Thursday_
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety
All Levels
Work safely and be able to identify potential safety concerns in PAC facilities and coach others on safe work practices.
Take initiative to bring unsafe conditions to the attention of the appropriate person or resolve personally.
Meet all maintenance related OSHA safety regulations including required safety adherence, required inspections, and facility maintenance.
Follow up on various maintenance tasks related to safety as a result of Safety Committee recommendations, inspections or employee suggestions.
Maintain all equipment to OEM, OSHA or PAC established safety standards.
Training
Level I & II
Train less experienced employees in their essential duties. Level III
Train operations, maintenance, and others following upgrades and new equipment installations.
Equipment Maintenance
Level I
Ability to meet all necessary competency items for a level I Maintenance Tech.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests and perform repairs as needed including light building repair.
Perform Basic Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures while following a prescribed program and schedule.
Install basic electrical components, such as switches and limits.
Fabricate basic items, as needed, for machine repair and improvement.
Use basic shop tools to perform all necessary repairs and fabrication.
Follow OEM manuals to perform basic setup and repair procedures.
Ability to diagnose, repair and find the root cause of basic machine problems that impact quality and productivity. Level II
Ability to meet all necessary competency items for a level II Maintenance Tech.
Perform Moderate Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures while following a prescribed program and schedule.
Fabricate and install electrical components such as enclosures.
Fabricate various items as needed for machine repair and improvement.
Use advanced shop tools to perform all necessary repairs and fabrication Level III
Ability to meet all necessary competency items for a level III Maintenance Tech.
Perform Advanced Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures while following a prescribed program and schedule.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests from all PAC Worldwide facilities and assist as needed.
Organization
Level I
Follow basic outlined inventory control process.
Ability to work with supervision to complete assigned work.
Other related duties as assigned. Level II
Identify technical procedure documents needed for equipment.
Identify facility and equipment schematics that need updated by Engineering & Facility teams.
Ability to work with limited supervision to complete assigned work.
Identify parts and components needed for purchasing agent to maintain plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Level III
Collaborate with Engineering & Facility teams to maintain technical procedure documents for equipment.
Collaborate with Engineering & Facility teams to maintain and update current facility equipment schematics.
Ability to work without supervision to complete assigned work.
Purchasing of necessary parts and components to maintain plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to include parts required by various projects.
Education:
Level I: High School graduate or equivalent; Level III: Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
Qualifications:
Level I
General industrial mechanical experience including pneumatics and hydraulics
General industrial electrical experience including high voltage and 3 phase motors
Basic understanding of electronic control systems including plc Level II
Moderate industrial electrical experience including vfd and servo motors.
Moderate industrial mechanical experience including pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints. Level III
Advanced industrial electrical experience including vfd and servo motors.
Advanced industrial mechanical experience including pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Ability to modify electrical control systems including plcs & hmis across multiple platforms.
Ability to modify, design, and maintain electrical schematics. Level I
1 to 2 years' experience in a maintenance environment or some schooling in related fields. Level II
2 or more years' experience in a maintenance or engineering service environment. Level III
5
years of experience in a maintenance or engineering service environment.
Continued training and education in related field of maintenance or mechanical/electrical engineering.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Level I
Valid driver's license (required). Level II
Forklift certification (required).
Scissor lift certification (required).
Boom lift certification (required). Level III
Valid passport or ability to obtain one (required).
Skills/Competencies
Language and Communication:
English, oral, and written communication skills (required).
Effectively record and communicate machine repairs both internally and externally.
Technical writing skills (preferred).
Mathematical Skills:
Level I & II
Basic mathematical skills.
Have understanding of decimals, fractions and the metric system.
Ability to use measuring tools (scales, micrometers, gauges). Level III
Advanced mathematical skills.
Reasoning Ability:
Level I
Basic reasoning skills.
Have the ability to work through basic electrical and mechanical issues as they arise. Level II
Moderate reasoning skills.
Have the ability to work through basic electrical and mechanical issues as they arise and establish the permanent repair method. Level III
Advanced reasoning skills.
Computer Skills:
Level I & II
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs (preferred). Level III
CAD experience (preferred)
