About the Position

⏱️ Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Schedule: 3×12‑hour shifts per week
• Shift Hours: 18:45 – 07:15
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
  • 4 weekend shifts required per contract
• Float Requirement: Yes — may float to Med Surg, ED Hold, IMCU, Tele as needed

⭐ Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for cardiac and intermediate‑level patients, including:
  • Post cardiac surgery (CABG, valve repair/replacement)
  • Post interventional cardiology (stents, ablations, pacemakers, cardiac cath)
  • Heart failure, arrhythmias, ACS
  • LVAD medical management and post-new implant (IMCU level)
  • Thoracic surgery recoveries (VATS, esophagectomy, hiatal hernia repair)
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to acute changes
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (non‑titrating)
• Perform advanced respiratory care: HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care
• Care for chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), drains, ports, PICCs
• Provide pre‑ and post‑procedure care for cardioversion, bronchoscopy, mitral clip, TVAR, heart cath
• Use EPIC for charting and documentation
• Float as needed to Med Surg, ED Hold, Telemetry, or other areas within scope

Requirements

Experience Requirements

Required

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Must have Step‑Down, Tele, Cardiac, MS/Tele , or Intermediate Care experience
• Must be comfortable with 1:5 ratios on nights

Preferred

• Cardiac experience strongly preferred
• First‑time travelers considered only with cardiac background
• EPIC charting experience heavily preferred

Licensure & Certifications

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA or ARC only)
• ACLS (AHA or ARC only)

Licensure

• Active RN license
• No license hits accepted (WellSpan = hard stop )

Facility Requirements

• COVID‑19 vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemption allowed)
• Flu vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemption only)

Charting System

• EPIC — preferred and strongly recommended
