About you

You're a strategic and forward-thinking Total Rewards leader with a deep understanding of compensation, benefits, and recognition programs across North America. As the Senior Director of Total Rewards, you bring a proven ability to design, implement, and manage comprehensive rewards strategies that align with business goals and drive employee engagement. A trusted advisor to senior leadership, you're passionate about building competitive and equitable programs that help attract, retain, and motivate top talent. You're also a collaborative partner and key voice on the HR Leadership team, ensuring our total rewards approach reflects both market trends and our company's vision.

In this role, you will...

Design and execute a comprehensive Total Rewards strategy aligned with business objectives and company culture, including scalable processes and playbooks.

Lead the development and execution of employee benefits programs, including health and wellness, retirement (including 401k and RRSP), executive benefits programs, flexible spending accounts, and other perks, for both US and Canada.

Oversee relationships with benefits providers such as brokers, insurance companies, retirement plan administrators, wellness program vendors, and other third-party providers.

Oversee the design, administration, and benchmarking of compensation programs-base pay, incentive plans, commission structures (with a focus on commercial real estate), and executive compensation-ensuring competitiveness and internal equity.

Monitor market trends and regulatory changes in compensation and benefits (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA), ensuring the company remains competitive and fully compliant in both the U.S. and Canada.

Oversee job architecture frameworks, leveling, and the annual compensation review process, including salary planning, bonus allocation, and equity grants.

Benchmark and design performance-based executive compensation and sales commission structures that align with organizational goals and industry standards.

Leverage insights, analytics, and market data to assess program effectiveness, support decision-making, and present findings to senior leadership.

Partner with HR, finance, legal, and business leadership to align Total Rewards initiatives with broader business strategies.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of compensation and benefits professionals.

Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and identify opportunities for cost savings, service improvements, and enhanced employee experience through continuous evaluation and feedback.

What you'll bring

10+ years of experience in Compensation or Benefits, with at least 5 years in dedicated Total Rewards leadership roles within complex, multinational public companies.

Deep expertise in the design and execution of compensation and benefits strategies, with strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian regulations, including 401(k) compliance.

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple benefits programs and vendor relationships, including contract negotiations.

Proven success navigating highly matrixed, fast-paced organizations and driving scalable Total Rewards solutions.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and sound decision-making capabilities.

Effective team leader and communicator, with a track record of influencing senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree, HR certifications (e.g., CCP, CEBS), and proficiency in HRIS systems like Workday are preferred.
