Young Toddler Teacher (Ages 1-2)

The Agape School is looking for a loving, patient, and dependable Young Toddler Teacher to join our growing team. We are seeking someone who has a heart for children, a passion for early childhood education, and a desire to help our youngest learners grow in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.

Position Summary

The Young Toddler Teacher will care for and teach children ages 1–2 in a warm, structured, and developmentally appropriate classroom setting. The ideal candidate is nurturing, energetic, attentive, and committed to supporting each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth through play and daily interaction.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe, loving, and engaging classroom environment
• Support children’s daily routines including meals, diapering, naps, and transitions
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage exploration and development
• Foster language development through talking, singing, reading, and play
• Support social-emotional growth by modeling kindness, patience, and positive interactions
• Encourage sensory play, movement, fine motor development, and early learning experiences
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment
• Communicate daily with parents regarding children’s needs, milestones, and activities
• Observe and document developmental progress
• Ensure compliance with all childcare licensing and safety regulations

Qualifications

• Experience working with toddlers in a childcare setting preferred
• CDA, associate degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong understanding of child development for ages 1–2
• Patient, nurturing, dependable, and team-oriented
• Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day

Requirements

• Ability to pass all required background clearances
• Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Health assessment and TB clearance
• Completion of mandated reporter training and other required state trainings
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance
