Primary Purpose

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Ensures all personal, facility, and department safety standards are met. Performs routine repairs and maintenance on Electrical, control, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems including air distribution machinery, pneumatic and digital controls, hot and chilled water distribution, and variable volume systems. Responsible for the operation and repair of standard electrical and sophisticated electronic equipment and circuitry typically utilized in the operation of buildings and computer systems.

Primary Duties

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Repairs all equipment, from an analysis of the nature of the trouble on through to the completion of the job, but within the limits of his/her defined skill.

• Tears down machinery to gain access to the faulty part and fits new parts into place, reassembling machine and making a test run to insure proper functioning of the equipment in accordance with its designed performance.

• Must be able to analyze problems with equipment, make repairs and test for correct results with or without direct supervision.

• Responsible for the operation of the Customer Call Center and control room, on a 24/7 basis.

• Records emergency, project and routine work when called into the Control Room.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum 5 years' experience in the operation, repair and maintenance of plant and building systems equipment. This includes detailed knowledge in the repair of all components that make up commercial HVAC systems, gas distribution systems, primary and secondary power distribution systems, etc. Technical School completion for HVAC and Electric desirable.

• Must communicate well with supervision, peers and clients.

• Must have ability to successfully complete appropriate testing associated with this position as a pre-requisite for employment.

• Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision and guidance.

• Must be available for rotating shift work, 24/7, including weekends and Company approved holidays.

• Must be available for Emergency Response and Call-outs.

• Demonstrated experience in preparing informal estimates of major repairs and/or compose written reports to management regarding such matters as improved design of parts, equipment and methods.

• Must have Universal Refrigerant Reclaim and Storage Certification of HVAC equipment and any required City of Philadelphia Licenses.

• Appropriate license for operation of boilers or HVAC equipment where required.

• Computer Skills required with knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System.

• Valid Driver's license with ability to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle and maintain a Driver Qualification File

• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol test(s), background check(s) and physicals

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Universal Refrigeration License (EPA)

• Preferred but not required experience working with R32 & R454B.

• Hands on Commercial Building Automation

• Class A License

• Commercial Building Switch Gear operation
