Public Relations Senior Account Executive
PUNCH Media , Philadelphia’s premier hospitality and lifestyle public relations firm, is seeking a vibrant, dedicated, and creative candidate for a Senior Account Executive who also shares our zeal in finding and communicating our clients’ stories.
PUNCH Media is a full-service boutique agency specializing in public relations, social media management, marketing, events, consulting, and brand development. Our passions lie in food, beverage, hospitality, and the people who bring those talents to the fore.
Contender must have proven public relations experience in food, beverage, and lifestyle arenas. The ideal hire excels at consistently providing thoughtful communication in a fast-paced, self-directed environment. Applicant should be dynamic, aesthetically driven, boast exceptional media relations skills, and possess determination to secure earned media. Candidate will also be experienced in industry software and applications, including but not limited to Google Suite, Canva, Microsoft 365, Critical Mention, etc.
Senior Account Executive:
The ideal contender works with and mentors Account Executives, Account Assistants and Interns. They collaborate with clients on their unique story, lead their team as an expert in researching, crafting, and communicating that message, and are laser-focused in pitching the story to the media.
The Senior AE is proactive in creating, cultivating and strengthening relationships with media and clients. They are a creative and organized leader, who is equally comfortable strategizing with and presenting to clients as they are leading and refining their team and encouraging professional growth.
Some responsibilities:
- Meticulously manage a group of accounts as a thought leader with support from team
- Develop tailored PR strategies based on the understanding of client's business objectives, target audiences, and competitive landscape
- Actively engage in media relations efforts, building relationships and alliances with clients, media, and local and national organizations
- Lead projects, campaigns, and events from strategy to completion to final report
- Exercise and maintain excellent writing, research, and communications skills via press releases, bios, etc. while developing your team’s skills in the same
- Secure earned media placements, awards, and recognition for clients
- Lead and mentor supporting team members on everyday activities: from media monitoring, tracking, and monthly client reporting through more complex planning and event management and career growth.
- Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance, high morale, and an empowered team who consistently rises above expectations
Some requirements:
- 5-7 years PR agency experience in a hospitality and/or lifestyle capacity is required
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English or related field
- Passion for finding and communicating client stories to local and national audiences
- Strong, proven, existing media relationships with enthusiasm in development of same
- Demonstrable record of successful campaign leadership and new client engagement
- Strong research, writing, and pitching skills
- Dedication to mentoring team members
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends as events or travel determine
- Ability to travel
