Job Summary

The Process Improvement Leader for Extrusion drives continuous improvement by developing and implementing process enhancements that reduce waste and improve performance. This role partners closely with Maintenance to strengthen equipment uptime and reliability. It also leads key plant initiatives, including CAPEX projects, new business launches, and product development. Working with Quality and Production, the position supports efforts to reduce PPM and improve efficiencies in throughput, recovery, and equipment uptime.

Required Education/ Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Five plus years of manufacturing process experience in the extrusion industry is preferred.

Preferred Skills/ Qualifications:

• Above average working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Strategic A3 thinker, Effective problem-solving skills, and Project management skills.
• Strong analytical skills, and ability to identify waste and the business value associated with its elimination. Capable of facilitating diverse teams systematically through waste elimination methods.
• Demonstrated track record of accomplishing projects in a collaborative environment.
• Mathematical proficiency, with an emphasis on applied Statistical Process Control.
• Strong presentation skills, including Group facilitation, training, Kaizen Team Leader, and public speaking.
• Excellent written & oral communication skills are essential as this position interacts with all levels of our organization.
• Highly motivated self-starter, enthusiastic, capable of bringing out the best in people with reward and recognition.
• Strong working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheets, word processing, databases, presentation software, and associated networking and communication tools.
• Basic understanding of Casting and Extrusion metallurgy.

What you will be doing

• Serve as a role model for Lean leadership, driving waste elimination and coaching leaders and team members to strengthen the Lean culture across the Cressona operation.
• Lead salaried and hourly teams in identifying, implementing, and sustaining process improvements through small experiments, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate the development and maintenance of daily management systems, process controls, preventive maintenance, 5S, TPM, and structured problem‑solving practices.
• Apply and promote A3 thinking to guide continuous improvement efforts and project execution.
• Utilize systems such as Oracle, CIMX, Recipe Management, and MVP to train teams, manage data, and drive improvements aligned with key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Analyze process data to support fact‑based decision‑making and verify the effectiveness and sustainability of improvement methods.
• Capture and standardize best practices across all shifts, ensuring consistent training, documentation, and operational performance.
