Purchasing Assistant – JBS USA Food Company Souderton, PA
Primary Role:
Support plant operations by managing inventory of parts, materials,and PPE inventory; processing requisitions, cycle counts;and assisting Purchasing Lead & Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Conduct daily and cyclical inventory counts.
- Verify on-hand inventory and incoming shipments.
- Maintain accurate records and proper labeling of materials.
Material Handling:
- Receive, issue, and deliver parts and materials.
- Operate a forklift for unloading and storage.
- Prepare materials for return or repair.
Documentation & Data Entry:
- Post receivers and issue slips in SAP.
- File paperwork and slips in numerical sequence.
- Locate parts and materials in the database for maintenance and other departments.
Cross Training:
- Provide support across purchasing areas including packaging and office operations.
5S Standards Commitment:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by applying 5S principles: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.
- Actively contribute to the Standardize and Sustain phases to embed these practices into daily routines, promoting safety and operational excellence.
Additional Duties:
- Assist with special projects and audits.
- Support other departments during peak times or absences.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in training new team members and provide cross-functional support.
- All other duties assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with a dependable work ethic.
- Excellent computer skills:
- SAP experience preferred
- Microsoft Excel required
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
- Comfortable with physical tasks and forklift operation.
