Maintenance Technician
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Works under general supervision.
- Defined guidelines and standards or precedents guide rarely independent judgement.
- Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgement.
- Applies working general knowledge of technical resources to complete assigned task.
- Identifies and solves basic problems and presents alternatives in a useful / logical manner.
- Maintains clean and organized work areas.
- Supports initiatives to continuously improve and reduce variations in specific operations or processes, including Lean Six Sigma training, process control charting, and process capability studies.
- Must be able to multi-task multiple processes at any given moment.
- Supports and responds to requests for assistance with customer-related quality and delivery issues
Education & Experience
- Minimum of HS Diploma
Skills
- Ability to adapt readily to changes in work caused by new requirements and/or situations.
- Ability to contribute to a cohesive working group; demonstrate commitment to and enthusiasm for team goals; demonstrate cooperation and coordination with all coworkers.
- Ability to effectively listen.
- Demonstrate and action our corporate ICARE values in everyday interactions.
- Apply basic knowledge / skills of processes, procedures, equipment and systems in technical area.
- Apply understanding of company policies and procedures in completion of work. Little or no prior relevant work experience.
- Must have both written and verbal skill to complete job requirements.
- Must have basic computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel).
Working Conditions
- Temperature and humidity-controlled environment.
- Cleanliness ranges from warehouse-type fabrication environment to high-purity clean room environment.
- Safety is our number one priority
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to move or traverse at least 50% of the time.
- Working in a stationary position may be required some of the time.
- May be required to lift up to 20 pounds from time to time.
- Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be able to operate a computer and other precision electronic equipment
ITAR/EAR and Other Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or protected individual).
- Compliance with all applicable export control regulations.
Safety Requirements
All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.
Quality and Environmental Responsibilities
Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
