Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):
Conducting maintenance and preventive maintenance of plumbing, e lectrical (up to 480 volts), HVAC, carpentry, painting*
Pool equipment repairs and projects; performing kitchen equipment installation and repairs*
Carrying out Convention Center exhibitor requests (electrical, banner hanging, etc.)*
Recycling duties & grounds clean up*
Following all established safety/energy conservation procedures*
Maintain a neat, professional appearance and demeanor*
Performing other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Must have verifiable work experience in hotel (or similar industry) maintenance including preventive maintenance, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting and kitchen repair.
Technical schooling or four years of related work experience, in the above trades, required and must be verifiable.
Valid driver's license required; ability to be certified and operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other similar equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be dependable, self-motivated; able to work alone as required; work with minimal supervision.
By end of the probationary period, employee must be able to achieve established standards.
Job Demands:
Normal working hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm, 3:00pm to 11:30pm, or 11pm to 7:30am. Must be flexible working nights, weekends, holidays and in responding to emergencies after hours.
Must furnish own hand tools.
Exposure to cleaning and general maintenance chemicals.
Required to lift at least 50 lbs.
Shovel snow and endure cold temperatures for a long period of time.
Must be able to work at heights over 20 feet and work on a stepladder.
This is a union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which will most likely require evening and weekend hours.
