Volunteer & Floor Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Volunteer & Floor Coordinator with retail experience to manage our volunteer program while assisting with retail operations. This role involves recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers, as well as supporting sales, inventory, and customer service in our retail space. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fair trade, skilled in people management, and comfortable working in a retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteer Coordination:

- Recruit, onboard, and train volunteers for various programs and events.

- Schedule and assign volunteers based on organizational needs.

- Maintain volunteer records, including hours, skills, and availability.

- Foster positive relationships with volunteers through recognition and engagement activities.

- Coordinate volunteer appreciation events and incentives.

- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and safety regulations.

Retail Operations:

- Assist with sales, customer service, and inventory management

- Train volunteers in retail tasks such as cash handling, stocking, and merchandising.

- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment.

- Process transactions, handle returns, and resolve customer inquiries.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Experience in volunteer coordination, nonprofit work, or community engagement.

- Experience in retail, customer service, or sales

- Outgoing with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

- Ability to motivate and lead diverse groups of volunteers.

- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.

- Basic retail POS system experience preferred.

- Working knowledge of social media channels, especially Facebook, Instagram, and Eventbrite
