Commercial Claims Administrative Assistant
Job Description:
A dynamic organization is seeking a detail-oriented Claims Administrative Assistant to support its claims department. This role involves handling a variety of clerical and administrative tasks, supporting the claims process, and ensuring smooth departmental operations. The position offers a hybrid work environment, with two days in the office and three days working from home after an initial training period.
Responsibilities:
- Handle clerical and administrative tasks to support the claims process.
- Obtain and coordinate the distribution and filing of monthly and quarterly claim reports.
- Process claim payments in ClaimCenter while maintaining SOX compliance standards.
- Process cash call payments in Concur while ensuring SOX compliance.
- Create and send excess casualty loss runs as requested.
- Create claims in Claims Assure utilizing the first notice of loss process.
- Assist in managing the claims Department mailbox to ensure timely responses.
- Ensure accuracy and organization of files in SharePoint.
- Record minutes of claims department meetings for documentation purposes.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and process expense reports for claims department staff.
- Create and update organizational charts within the company.
- Suggest, document and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Develop a basic understanding of specialty insurance, public entities and non-profits insurance industries.
- Learn and effectively utilize Old Republic systems and processes.
- Work collaboratively with other departments including Underwriting, Operations, and Actuarial.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a commercial lines administrative support role
- Experience with loss runs and certificates of insurance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Associate’s degree or higher
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to accept supervision, follow instructions and work harmoniously with colleagues
Pay Range:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00 per hour. We understand salary is an important factor in a job search, and we encourage you to apply even if you feel that your desired compensation may fall outside of the listed range. The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
