Mortgage Processor

Make an impact with your underwriting or mortgage loan processing expertise, where using your skills, understanding of the loan process and extended knowledge can make a difference. As a Preclosing Officer, you’ll use your professional skills in government and conventional loan programs to ensure accuracy, compliance and quality of every loan received from our lending partners. Responsibilities

• Review residential mortgage loan files submitted by our office’s approved lenders prior to closing to ensure they meet all program, investor and underwriting guidelines including FHA, VA, RD, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae.
• Confirm each loan package is complete, accurate and sellable to the organization.
• Evaluate documentation for loans suspended or approved with conditions, ensuring issues are properly resolved prior to closing.
• Collaborate with lenders and internal teams to resolve complex underwriting and documentation questions quickly and accurately.
• Serve as a resource for network lenders and business partners by providing guidance on client programs and investor requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of agency and investor updates, mortgage regulations, and secondary market trends.
• Participate in team discussions to identify process improvements and best practices that enhance loan quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience in residential mortgage lending, as a processor or underwriter.
• Four-year degrees are not required but a plus.
• Computer proficiency is required in Microsoft products including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with electronic submission programs such as VirPack, Encompass, etc.
