Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed - Patrol and Access Control in Reading, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Hospitals, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a health-care location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. You will support daily operations with professionalism, teamwork, and integrity while contributing to a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative culture at Allied Universal.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a hospital.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or local responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, production areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify entry permissions for authorized personnel, visitors, and/or deliveries in accordance with site protocols and post orders.
• Maintain readiness to perform armed post duties in compliance with Allied Universal guidelines, applicable laws, and site requirements while using sound judgment during security-related responses.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 1 or more years of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Possess an Act 235 qualification for positions in Pennsylvania only.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
