As a Human Resources Generalist at Luthercare, you will serve as a liaison for Luthercare team members, supporting onboarding and employee experience initiatives. Our team members provide caring support to older adults and children at senior living communities and childcare and early learning centers across Lancaster and Lebanon counties. You will be part of a team of dedicated professionals who want to provide the best customer service and care to the residents, children, and families we serve.
We’re currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist who is based at the Luther Acres senior living community in Lititz, PA. The position may require some travel to our other campuses. This is a Full-Time, exempt-level position.

WHAT YOU DO:
As a Human Resources Generalist at Luthercare, your organizational, communication, and customer service skills are key to supporting the effective and efficient operations of our Human Resources Department. You will do this by performing a variety of duties, including, but not limited to:
- Extend and communicate job offers
- Guide candidate through post-offer employment requirements, such as post-offer physical and drug screen, criminal background check, reference checks, employment verification, respiratory fit testing (if needed), and other background checks as required.
- Coordinates with the Recruiting team to track post-offer employment requirements and/or candidate start dates, working closely with department managers and Human Resources.
- Schedule orientation training
- Conduct new hire team member orientation training at various Luthercare campuses to ensure a positive new employee experience.
- Reviews benefit plan options and follow up with newly hired team members for completed forms/necessary documentation and answers benefits related and general onboarding questions.
- Complete HR-related projects as assigned.
- Assists with employee relations investigations in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Participates on various Luthercare committees, including the Safety Committee
- Coordinates Workers Compensation management to include filing first reports, return to work and maintaining contact with team members as well as department manager.
- Assists with investigating workplace accidents and communicating reports with insurance carriers.
- Assists with completion of OSHA record-keeping requirements
- Prepares and attends on-site job fair, collaborating with Recruiter and Marketing Department.
- Coordinates internal job posting on campuses
- Assists department managers with basic payroll questions, and basic edits to timecards in time and attendance system.
- Adheres to all Luthercare standards, applicable federal/state regulations and follows general safety protocols.
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and KNowledge Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related fields.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of Human Resources experience in a similar role
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at once
ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE/Abilities:
- General knowledge and understanding of state and federal labor laws and regulations that impact human resources and employment.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ability to sit for an extended period of time.
PREFerred JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES:
- Masters’ Degree preferred
- HR certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or SPHR a plus
- Experience with HRIS system preferably ADP or similar system.
- Experience with onboarding and compliance
- Computer skills and ability to utilize electronic programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
