A Day in the Shop — Philadelphia, PA

Step onto the floor of our Philadelphia facility and you’ll dive straight into the craft: reviewing prints, choosing tooling, setting up a manual engine lathe or knee mill, dialing in workholding, and making the first precise cut. You’ll verify every move with micrometers and calipers, adjust as needed, and keep equipment running smoothly with routine care. When challenges surface, you’ll partner with engineers and teammates to troubleshoot. By day’s end, your station is clean, your documentation is complete, and high‑quality parts are ready to go.

Core Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional lathes, mills, and grinders to produce precision components.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to machine parts to exact dimensions.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines operating at peak performance.
• Inspect parts with precision tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to confirm conformance to specs.
• Collaborate with engineers and peers to troubleshoot setups and resolve machining issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following established safety protocols.
• Document setups, measurements, and work performed to ensure accurate production records.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent; machining certificate or technical training is a plus.
• Proven manual machining experience and a strong grasp of machining processes.
• Fluency in reading and interpreting prints and technical drawings.
• Hands-on proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to top-tier workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
