Junior Outside Sales Representative

Summary
Join our team as a Junior Sales Representative and play a key role in driving new business opportunities. You’ll learn the market, develop product knowledge across stone, aggregate, concrete, asphalt, and other materials, and work closely with customers to deliver solutions that meet their needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for own personal safety at all times as well as maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job.
- Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc.
- Conduct daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA’s, TRACK, etc.)
- Maintain productive working relationship with customers & fellow employees.
- Establish the company as the preferred vendor by providing differential value between our company and the competition.
- Solicit/secure opportunities to price jobs and gather orders from existing customers by means of personal visits, telephone conversation, or written communication.
- Identify new markets and targets specific accounts and prospects to meet or exceed sales objectives.
- Submit daily activity / call reports concerning customer related events.
- Research construction activity in our market area and surrounding market areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other requirements
- Current Driver’s License and reliable source of transportation.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the general public at all times.
- Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Strict adherence to the Pennsy Supply, Inc. Safety Manual.
- Strict adherence to the Pennsy Supply, Inc. policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Excellent computer skills and proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Ability to do basic math

Education and/or Experience
- Must have 3 years related experience in sales with construction background or combination of education and experience.
- High school Diploma or equivalent.
Language Skills
Able to effectively communicate in verbal and written form to employees, management, executives, and clients Must have excellent phone etiquette, speaking voice and professional appearance.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Able to identify, define and resolve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical, written or oral form. Able to deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Able to interpret written and oral instructions, and to read, analyze, and interpret, operating & maintenance instructions or regulations.
Stress
Ability to handle stressful situations when dealing with customer demand, supervision of staff and scheduling.
