Purpose of the role


To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.



Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

In this role, you'll help build and operate mission-critical, low-latency trading and market data infrastructure that powers systematic trading strategies. You'll work in a highly technical, greenfield environment, partnering closely with traders, quants, and platform teams to deliver high-performance systems where precision, speed, and reliability truly matter.


To be successful as a Senior C++ Developer - VP, you should have experience with:



  • Low-latency system design and performance-critical development in production environments
  • C++ development on Linux, including optimization of code and system configuration
  • Designing, building, and operating resilient, enterprise-grade trading infrastructure
  • Collaborating effectively with traders, quants, and technology stakeholders
  • Troubleshooting and supporting real-time systems in production

Some other highly valued skills may include:



  • Scripting languages for tooling, automation, and operational support
  • Database knowledge, including KDB or similar high-performance data stores
  • Financial services or trading systems domain experience
  • Exposure to greenfield system development in high-throughput environments

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.


This role is located in Whippany, New Jersey.


Minimum Salary: $170,000


Maximum Salary: $230,000


The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

This position is eligible for an incentive award.
