Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Core Welder with expertise in Mig/Flux welding to join our team. You will be responsible for welding and fabricating custom parts, primarily pressure vessels used in shipyards or the boating industry. The role requires a deep understanding of blueprint reading and jig work. Candidates must pass a weld test due to the precision required, as parts cannot leak. This position operates within a small machine shop environment, necessitating individuals who are self-sufficient in preparing their own materials.

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate custom parts with a focus on precision and quality.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate assembly and welding.
• Perform jig work and prepare materials independently.
• Conduct welding using Mig/Flux techniques on pressure vessels.
• Cut parts and metals as necessary for fabrication.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Essential Skills

• 1-3 years of experience in welding with Flux Core.
• 1-2 years of experience in blueprint reading.
• Proficiency in Mig/Flux welding techniques.
• Ability to work independently in a small machine shop.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with cutting parts and metals is a plus.
• Understanding of jig work is highly beneficial.

Work Environment

The position operates on the 1st Shift, Monday through Thursday, from 6 AM to 4:30 PM. Fridays are reserved for mandatory overtime when available. The work takes place in a small machine shop, requiring steel-toe boots and safety glasses. The environment expects individuals to have a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of GREENCASTLE, Pennsylvania - 6am-4:30pm Monday- Thursday

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
