Spiral Wire Belt Finishing Technician
3rd Shift — Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
When your night begins, you step onto the floor with one priority: safety. You check your protective gear, review the day’s shop order, and set up your station at the finish table. From there, your craft takes over—turning rolls and spirals into a precisely finished belt that’s ready to ship.
What a typical night looks like
- Practice safety at every moment and use all provided safety devices and equipment.
- Consult the shop manual for proper procedures and the correct type of edge finishing required.
- Place rolls on the finish table, align and straighten spirals to a uniform pattern, and connect panels using a connecting crimp.
- Verify the “spirals per foot” exactly as listed on the shop order.
- Apply appropriate tension and trim spirals cleanly.
- Square the belt to specification.
- Weld belt edges according to the specified edge type.
- Inspect the finished belt for accuracy and quality.
- After supervisor approval, deliver the belt to the shipping department.
