Overview:Position Overview
At Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), Carpenters support skilled technicians in the installation and service of hollow metal doors, wood doors, frames, and finish hardware. With a hands-on approach and willingness to learn, you play a key role in ensuring quality workmanship and timely project completion—helping UDHG deliver excellence on every job site.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Repair Support
- Assisting Senior Technicians in service & repair commercial man doors and frames to operate correctly and according to applicable Building Codes
- Apply hardware to doors, such as drilling holes to install locks, closers & exit devices
- Install new or repair/replace worn or broken door parts, using hand tools
- Perform work in buildings both occupied and under construction
- Perform work to a high-quality standard under supervision of Senior Technician
Communication & Teamwork- Communicate effectively with Senior Technician & internal team members
Documentation & Tools
- Complete required daily paperwork, such as time sheets, daily reports, work orders
- Provide your own hand tools and keep in good working order
Safety
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment
- Adhere to all driving regulations based on state and/or jurisdiction policies such as wearing a seatbelt
- Use proper lifting techniques
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment safety shoes and clothing
Physical Requirements
- Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation, grasping and manipulation
- Frequent driving or sitting in a truck, forklift or other similar equipment for multiple hours a day
- Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying building materials weighing approximately 100 pounds, using proper lifting procedures; and occasionally pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying greater weights. Pushing and pulling carts loaded carts over various distances and surfaces. Some functions may be performed as a team
- Additional physical requirements may be needed as duties are assigned

- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent technical or vocational training
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as in construction trade, maintenance, or repair
- General knowledge of Hollow Metal Doors & Frames, Architectural Wood Doors and Frames, and Finish Hardware products, systems
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of safety protocols and guidelines
- Preferred experience in repairs and modifications to wood doors and frame
- Preferred experience with specifications, shop drawings, hardware schedules, blueprints and schematic diagrams to determine appropriate methods of installing or repairing doors and hardware
- Must possess valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Must be willing to travel within territory as needed
