Direct Support Professional
Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and support to adult individuals with diverse needs within their homes and/or in the community. This role involves assisting individuals in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centered care, excellent communication skills, and experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care settings.
We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Professional to assist a 70-year-old woman in the Royersford area.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with laundry at a local laundromat
- Support participation in nearby community events
- Provide meaningful companionship and engagement

Schedule:
- Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Potential increase within 1 month to: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- Reliable transportation (required)
- Ability to pass a background check
- CPR/First Aid Certification (active)
- Prior experience in caregiving and/or teaching (preferred)

Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- At least one year experience working or support individuals with an Intellectual Disability and/or ASD
- Driver's License, Vehicle Registration and Insurance
- Clean Driving Record
- Clean FBI/Child Abuse/State Police Clearance
- Active CPR/First Aid Certification
- TB within the last 12 months
- Patient and Supportive Personality
Duties
- Matching with an individual is dependent on preferences and skillset. Individual's can be located throughout Southeast PA.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Operate as a Mandated Reporter and adhere to reporting requirements to APS, DHS and other governing entities.
- Engage individuals to participate in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and independence Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning and preparation
- Provide supervision and observation to ensure safety and well-being
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean, safe living environment
- Follow individualized care plans tailored to each individual's needs, including behavioral needs, emotional needs, and medical needs.
- Observe for changes in health status or behavior and report findings promptly to supervisors
- Adhere to safety protocols including CPR and First Aid procedures
Experience
Candidates should possess relevant experience such as group home work, teaching, assisted living, home health care, hospice or nursing home experience. Experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is a plus. Candidates should demonstrate patience, compassion, strong observational skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a caregiving team.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
