• Under Project Manager’s/Professional Engineer’s supervision, develops drawings and sketches such as subsurface utility base maps and civil & electrical design drawings for proposed electrical distribution infrastructure.
• Applies basic drafting and CAD knowledge in accordance with company, client, and electrical discipline standards and procedures.
• Utilizes electrical design drawings for proposed infrastructure to input data into Geographic Information Systems (GIS) per client standards and procedures.
• Performs site visits, data collection, detailed field inspection, topographic surveys, substation surveys, utility pole inspections, building investigations, manhole inspections, document field notes and other data required to develop design drawings.
• Performs routine checking and/or verification of lower-level staff‘s work for technical quality, accuracy and compliance with customer, company, and electrical discipline standards.

Desired Education, Experience and Training

• CAD certification / trade school program or associate’s degree in civil, electrical or related engineering technology discipline preferred.
• 0-5 years of qualified industry experience.
• Knowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD platforms.
• Electrical distribution experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to complete tasks in accordance with project procedures, applicable codes and/or standards and meet project deadlines.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively with immediate supervisor and other project personnel.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
