Barista

Location: Five Below Corporate Office Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM About the Role

We're looking for a dependable, self-motivated Barista to run the daily coffee and café service at our corporate office. This is a hands-on, solo role: you'll be the sole barista on-site, responsible for opening, running, and closing the café each day while creating a welcoming experience for employees and guests. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality drinks, keeps a clean and organized station, and thrives working independently in a professional office setting.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, tea, and other café beverages to a consistent standard
• Open and close the café independently, including setup, brewing, and end-of-day cleaning and shutdown
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked station throughout the day, following health and safety standards
• Monitor inventory and communicate restocking needs for coffee, milk, syrups, cups, and supplies
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment, including routine cleaning and basic troubleshooting
• Handle transactions accurately
• Provide friendly, professional service to employees, executives, and visiting guests
• Follow all food-handling, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of barista experience (espresso, milk steaming, and drink preparation)
• Comfortable and confident working alone and managing the café independently
• Professional demeanor suited to a corporate office environment
• Strong reliability and punctuality — the café's daily operation depends on you
• Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Ability to work the fixed schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Preferred Qualifications

• Latte art or specialty drink experience
• Familiarity with commercial espresso equipment and basic maintenance
• Food handler's certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience in a café, coffee shop, or hospitality setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for the majority of the shift
• Ability to lift up to 25–30 lbs (supplies, milk crates, coffee bags
