As a Security Officer - Educational Facility - Part Time in Philadelphia, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more.

As a Front Desk Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, students, and staff at a vibrant educational location. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access points, verifying credentials, and assisting with badge control to help maintain a secure environment. You will provide exceptional customer service, answer inquiries, and help to deter security-related incidents through your attentive presence and professional demeanor. What You'll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, faculty, and visitors at the front desk by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Monitor access control at the front desk, verifying identification and/or credentials of individuals entering the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Assist with visitor management, including logging visitors and issuing visitor passes as required.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with all individuals at the location, addressing questions and providing information as needed.
  • Report unusual or suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel and/or authorities to help to deter potential incidents.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed, including alerting appropriate personnel and providing guidance to individuals at the location.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of daily activities, incidents, and/or other relevant information as required by site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
