Medical Science Liaison, Neuroscience/Psychiatry (US)
Serving as a field-based extension of Medical Affairs, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will represent the Company and their approved therapy for major depressive disorder (MDD), a first-in-class selective serotonin 5HT1a receptor agonist for treatment of MDD in adults.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a scientific resource to healthcare professionals regarding Company’s novel selective serotonin 5HT1a receptor agonist for major depressive disorder (MDD)
 - Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in psychiatry and mental health specialties
 - Conduct scientific presentations and discussions about the Company’s products clinical profile, highlighting its efficacy in improving depression symptoms with favorable sexual side effect profile
 - Address medical inquiries from healthcare providers regarding our product and major depressive disorder treatment approaches
 - Provide scientific support at medical conferences, advisory boards, and other professional gatherings
 - Collaborate with regional healthcare providers to understand clinical practice patterns and treatment challenges in MDD
 - Gather insights from the field regarding product performance, patient experiences, and provider feedback
 - Support appropriate use of Company’s medication in clinical practice through evidence-based discussions
 - Stay current on scientific developments in MDD, CNS conditions, and competitive treatments
 - Understand the evolving treatment landscape for major depressive disorders and where the Company’s product fits within treatment algorithms
 - Maintain deep knowledge of the Company’s product's clinical trial data, pharmacology, and differentiating features from other antidepressants
 - Work closely with marketing, sales, and market access teams to align scientific messaging and support the upcoming product launch
 - Participate in training on our company's product portfolio clinical profile and the competitive landscape
 - Develop expertise in communicating complex scientific information to various audiences
 - Stay informed about the Company’s broader CNS portfolio
 - This role requires travel (50%-70%) within an assigned territory to meet with healthcare providers, participate in medical conferences, and attend internal meetings
 
Qualifications:
- Doctorate-level degree (Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. DNP or D.O.) and 1+ years’ Medical Affairs experience. Other degrees (MSN, NP, RN) are considered in combination with Medical Affairs experience.
 - Extensive scientific and/or clinical experience in neuroscience, mood disorders strongly preferred.
 - Prior pharmaceutical industry experience as a MSL or Clinical Trial Liaison giving the candidates a solid understanding of scientific exchange in the context of a compliance landscape (new product launch experience) preferred.
 - Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently yet engage in collaboratively within Field team to complete tasks in a timely fashion
 - Excellent written and oral communication skills are imperative; ability to anticipate and adapt to change; strong interpersonal skills commensurate with the need to work closely with partners, investigators, contractors, consultants, and team members across functions.
 - Excellent transferable presentation, communication, and project management skills across a variety of interaction mediums including in person, digital, email, phone, etc.
 - Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific and medical information to both internal and external stakeholders.
 - Established track record of effective and influential oral presentations to both large and small audiences within the healthcare profession.
 - Ability to identify unmet medical, educational, and research needs at a local, regional, and national level in the medical community.
 - Demonstrated success working in a highly matrixed, cross-functional environment.
 - Excellent organizational skills and able to multi-task in an extremely fast-paced environment with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
 - Ability to assess situations to prioritize the importance, urgency and risks, and present leadership with recommendations.
 - Self-starter and team player with strong results orientation.
 - Willingness and ability to travel 50-70% including overnight stays.
 - Ability to manage geographically assigned territory from a home-based office.
 - Ability to complete required training, documentation, expense reporting, and other administrative tasks.
 - Computer skills including Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, and programs such as Zoom are expected.
 - Valid driver’s license
