Clinician - 9E Cardiology/Thoracic Surgical Acute Care (Night Shift)

We are hiring a full-time Clinician to support our 9E Cardiology/Thoracic Surgical Acute Care Unit! This position will work primarily night shift with some day shift availability as needed.
Title and salary will be determined based upon education and nursing experience. Those with 2 years of experience and/or those without their BSN will be brought in at the Clinician Fellow title and pay range. Salary as shown is for a Clinician.
9E is a 35-bed Cardiology/Thoracic Surgical Acute Care Unit specializing in cardiology and thoracic surgical care. Our highly skilled team cares for patients pre/post cardiovascular interventions, and vascular and thoracic surgeries, in addition to caring for complex cardiac conditions. 9E is a fast-paced environment offering the opportunity for nurses to gain valuable knowledge and experience working with a diverse and complex patient population using a team-based approach to care. Clinician Fellows/Clinicians work in collaboration with their Unit Director, management, and other caregivers to coordinate clinical activities for each shift, develop and educate staff on the unit, and improve the nursing process. Clinician Fellows/Clinicians inspire superior performance on their unit through example, not only by exhibiting their own expertise in patient care assignments, but also by providing ongoing consultation and education for their team, including in-service demonstrations of new devices, equipment, and policy changes.

The Clinician Fellow/Clinician, in collaboration with other health care professionals, applies superior clinical knowledge and skills to achieve quality patient care outcomes. The Clinician Fellow/Clinician is responsible for providing service-based education and clinical expertise for staff including orientation and training, consultation on practice issues and general coordination of clinical activities on a shift basis. They must demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care that is relevant to patients under their care, as well as apply principles of growth and development over the life span. The Clinician Fellow/Clinician also must possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age specific needs. The Clinician Fellow/Clinician demonstrates a commitment to the community and to the nursing profession.

Identifies, educates, and supports the psychological and learning needs of staff during change and transition.
Practices participatory leadership and is an active member of shared leadership at the unit, facility, or system level.
Assumes formal leadership responsibilities for one or more of the following: quality improvement, evidence-based practice, GN or new hire on-boarding.
Completes and/or assists with staff performance evaluations for direct reports as applicable.
