Visiting Assistant Professor - Human Anatomy and Physiology

Is Tenure Track: No Job Summary Gettysburg College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in the Health Sciences Department beginning August 2026. Teaching responsibilities will include sophomore-level courses in human anatomy and physiology I and II (lecture and laboratory components), with the possibility of teaching upper-level courses in an area of expertise. The teaching load for this position will be the equivalent of six courses for the year. Although research is not an expected component for the position, visiting faculty are eligible to apply for competitive research support funds offered by the college. Gettysburg College is a highly selective liberal arts college located within 90 minutes of the Baltimore/Washington metropolitan area. Established in 1832, the College has a rich history and is situated on a 220-acre campus with an enrollment of over 2,200 students. Qualifications Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or be ABD) in human anatomy, human physiology, or a related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with prior undergraduate teaching experience, particularly experience teaching lecture and laboratory courses in human anatomy and physiology, and a demonstrated commitment to effective, inclusive, and student-centered pedagogy.
